Archives III1. 2. The changing prophetic destiny of America. Under the presidencies of Jimmy Carter, George HW Bush, Bill Clinton, George W Bush and the immediate past “president,” America was led in a direction of global governance. Throughout those years, and especially in the past decade, America’s treatment of Israel has declined. The past eight years in particular has seen America become almost an enemy to Israel and no doubt this would have accelerated even more under a Hillary Clinton White House. Since 9. 11, America has settled into a world order that is diametrically opposed to the interests of Israel and aligned itself with the traditional enemies of Israel. This, without check, has tremendous eternal implications for America and its citizens.

In Matthew 2. 5: 3. Jesus speaks a parable, “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say to them on his right hand, Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” In exegetic context, the theme of God judging sheep and goats is also found in Ezekiel 3. Israel. There are many other examples of judging the nations who came against Israel and treated God’s children with contempt. We know from scripture that God will judge both nations and individuals. In Genesis 1. 2: 3 the Lord says to Abram, whose decedents became Israel, “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and you shall be a blessing; And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curses thee.” We find several prophecies where the nations that come against Israel are judged. Zechariah 1. 2: 9 says, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” The phrase “in that day” is a reference to the Day of the Lord, the same time frame Jesus spoke of when he said “When the Son of man shall come in his glory.”The leaders (shepherds) AND the nations (either sheep or goats) will be judged in the day of the Lord for how they treated Israel.

Likewise, all the people will be judged by the way they treated God’s people. Jesus continued in Matthew 2. Jesus says that what has been done to “the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.” He is speaking not only of how we are to treat one another, but also how we treat the children of God, Israel, who have been strangers, imprisoned, hungry, naked and thirsty.

This is consistent with the entirety of scripture. In the Day of the Lord, the United States does not want to be one of those nations that have come against Jerusalem, either militarily or politically.

The nation would be judged and it will not bode well for those in it. Under every White House since Carter, with the exception of Ronald Reagan, America has been moving toward siding with the enemies of God against the children of Israel, especially under the immediate past “president.” President Donald Trump is taking immediate steps to reverse this pattern. As we have seen from our brief study here, leaders are important for as Proverbs 2. When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn.” Let us rejoice in and pray that America’s prophetic destiny is being altered in the right direction by our new leader. The media, using half- truths, “if- then” scenarios, and alarmist statements of fear mongering criticizes every move that President Trump makes. If only, we as Christian Americans would stand in solidarity on behalf of restoring the truth and stop reading, listening to, or watching the mainstream media, perhaps the drop in ratings and revenue would result in change. We also must call out the lies and interpretations of the news based on a Marxist worldview.

Remember a little bit of truth makes a better lie. Many like the idea of turning off the media, but they, wishing to be informed, ask how they could do this and still be responsible citizens.

This comes down to two basic concepts: 1) no longer patronize the news media, and 2) discerning the truth. People ask how I do this. First and foremost, I pray and ask guidance from the Holy Spirit. I stopped watching the news about 1. I get my news through sources and by visiting a very small handful of websites, starting with The Drudge Report. Drudge is a news aggregator.

It has the stories from all the major and many minor news outlets. It writes its own news very little. On this site, one can compare what the various news outlets are writing about a certain topic. When reading the stories, I also look for clues to go to the original source—If a speech is quoted, for example, I find the text. If a source is quoted, I go to that person’s or organization’s website and read all of what was said in its context.

There are assumptions that I make. If the story is written by a mainstream media outlet, I assume that it is lying and that there is an opposite point of view. Then I look to find what others have written or find the actual source of the story. It’s easier than you think. If something is reported that is outlandish, it’s probably not true. I avoid sites like Snopes because they are funded by George Soros or other leftists and only perpetrate lies. One has to be careful not to fall into “group think”—that is what you see when all the reporters are using the same words to describe something, as if they are using talking points.

Judge every story as to what the angle is and try to boil it down to one fundamental statement. For example, President Trump is ending the immigration policy of the previous Administration, including federal funding to sanctuary cities that harbor illegal aliens.

The news media, however, reports that he is jack- booting immigration and stirs fear that families will be deported. These people, however, are here illegally.

Laws are on the books to protect citizens. Illegals chose to break the law. This is part of boiling down the news to a fundamental statement.

It is just an example. Discernment and truth are important and we need to know how to detect them before media reform can occur. Jesus said in Matthew 2. Take heed that no man deceive you.” It is your responsibility to judge properly and not be deceived. You can do a little journalistic work and be well informed each day in the same time you would normally watch the news. A call for media reform.

The professors were sticklers for fact and the correct application of it. In one class, we were given the example of a race between the Soviet Union and the United States.

The American won in this two- man contest. The headline in Pravda read: “Soviets finish second; Americans next to last in international race.” We discussed how the headline was factual, but it did not reflect the truth. A little bit of truth makes a better lie. And the mainstream news media has been lying to you for decades. The lies are becoming so bold and slanted that we, as truth- seeking Christian Americans, must call for media reform. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and even FOX need to wake up to the difference between editorializing and news. They all interchange the two seamlessly.

News should be unbiased and unreflective of the reporter’s political viewpoint. The journalist’s mission is to report the news without bias.

Trouble is, these “journalists” have been taught by communists in our colleges and universities and they bring with them an inner bias that cannot be undone. They see the aforementioned race in terms of political right and wrong, and to them the American did finish next to last.

It’s all how you view the event. These “journalists” view their politics as right and just, so everyone who disagrees is a hater.

In my time covering politics, I would have been aghast if someone accused me of favoritism and bias. I took great measures to ensure that my stories reflected the unbiased truth. During the former “president’s” last White House Correspondents Dinner, he described a free press as one that has the same goals as the White House, his administration, in particular.

He said, “So I want to close my final White House Correspondents' Dinner by just saying thank you. I'm very proud of what you've done. It has been an honor and a privilege to work side by side with you to strengthen our democracy.” He is describing a propaganda machine, not a “fourth estate” news media that held the administration accountable to the truth and the law. What he described is not a free press. A free nation depends on a free media.

But when the media crosses the line and becomes a mouthpiece for government, it is no longer free. Back to the story about the race—on inauguration day I watched as the mall from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial filled with people to hear President Donald Trump. During his speech the mall was full with a sea of people. Yet the media showed pictures of the mall before he began speaking while people were still gathering and tried to pass it off as a comparison to the crowds at the Planned Parenthood- Communist Party- sponsored women’s march the next day. When called on it by Trump, the media cried that he didn't even give them a break on the first day.

Then they published stories correcting Trump on his correction. It’s the same concept as the Russian- American race headline. If we do not have media reform as a nation, our freedoms are in jeopardy. Jesus said in John 8: 3.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” He said in John 1. I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes unto the Father but by me.” As Christian Americans, we know the truth. We should demand it of our media.
